ABOUT THE TEAM

Welcome to the home of Clemson Club Baseball. The club baseball team consists of approximately 25 players who are passionate about the game of baseball and desire to play at the collegiate level. We are a member of the National Club Baseball Association and compete against other club opponents primarily in the southeast.

During the fall, tryouts are held for one week soon after classes begin. There is no official spring tryout. Following these tryouts, our fall schedule consists primarily of practice and inter-squad scrimmages, and is capped with one or two fall-series. The spring season requires a significant commitment, as we practice daily beginning in January when classes resume. Once our season begins in mid-February, we play most weekends for the rest of the semester, typically totaling 25-30 games. Because we are one of the higher regarded club teams in the country, our goal is always to qualify for and win the NCBA regional tournament and World Series, both of which take place during the month of May.

To have the opportunity to do all of these things, we are required to fund the vast majority of our activities through our own fundraising, as well as a portion allotted by Clemson University. To accomplish our budget goals, during the season, everyone pays dues, as well as participating in a fundraising event at some point during the year.

While we certainly work hard and take our competition very seriously, our primary function as an organization is to have fun. And even though we do play at a high level, we invite students of all skill levels to participate. If you believe that your desire to play matches our goals and commitment, I encourage you to speak to me at any time during the school year regarding tryouts or any other questions about the team.
